TREES FOR UNITY PROGRAM: SITE PREPARATION AND TREE PLANTING ACTIVITY


The Bohol Provincial Environment Management Office (BPEMO) took part in the Trees for Unity Program Site Preparation and Tree Planting Activity on November 23-25, 2022, in San Vicente, Ubay, Bohol.
There were 2,000 assorted seedlings that were planted by the various offices from the different national government agencies, private sectors, and civil society organizations, who participated in the activity.

The activity was attended by the Department of Education (DepEd) Bohol, Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), Bohol Small-Scale Mining Association (BSSMA), Vice Governor's Office (VGO), Barangay Local Government Unit of San Vicente, Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO) Ubay, Bohol Quality, Philippine National Police (PNP), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR), Department of Agriculture Agricultural Promotion Center (DA - APC), Ubay Stock Farm, Bohol Island State University (BISU) Bilar and Candijay Campus, Marcela Farms, Society of Filipino Foresters Incorporated (SFFI) Bohol Chapter, DENR CENRO Tagbilaran, and Talibon, Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) Ubay, DepEd Alternative Learning Students, Bureau of Fire Prevention (BFP) Ubay, Trinidad, and Mabini, PhilHealth Bohol, and PNP SAF.
The Trees For Unity Program aims to mobilize and unite Boholanos to rehabilitate the open and deforested forest lands and the damaged plantations brought by Typhoon Odette. The program also works to make the community more climate-resilient.
